With over 25 years of experience in technology and AI, I've dedicated my career to creating innovative solutions that make a real difference. My journey began in software development, evolved through executive leadership roles, and led me to establish Bon5 AI with a simple mission: to build powerful, user-friendly AI tools that empower businesses and individuals to thrive in our rapidly evolving digital world.
I believe technology should serve humanity, not the other way around. That's why every project we create at Bon5 AI is designed with the user experience at its heart. From satellite data visualization to educational games for children, we focus on making complex technologies accessible and enjoyable.
When I'm not coding or strategizing about the future of AI, you can find me mountain biking through Utah's beautiful trails, spending time with my family, or tinkering with PCB design, ESP32 devices, and new technologies in my home lab. I'm passionate about continuous learning and believe that the best innovations come from curiosity, experimentation, and a genuine desire to solve real problems.
The concept for Geo Time Traveler was born during one of my cross-country road trips across the United States. As I drove through America's diverse landscapes, I found myself constantly wondering about the history embedded in every mile of road, every landmark, and every small town I passed through.
During one particular stretch of the journey, curiosity got the better of me. I decided to test whether the JavaScript Geolocation API would work in my Tesla's built-in browser. To my delight, it did! That simple experiment sparked an idea: what if I could automatically discover the historical significance of my location as I traveled?
I envisioned a system that would capture my GPS coordinates and reveal the historical events and stories that had unfolded at or near those exact spots. The concept evolved quickly—rather than just reading about history, what if I could see myself placed within those historical moments?
With the recent advances in AI image generation, this vision became achievable. The technology now allows us to generate historically accurate images that place users in specific geographical locations throughout different time periods. You're not just reading about the past—you're stepping into it, seeing yourself as part of history.
As AI continues to evolve, I believe we're approaching a future where users will be able to explore fully immersive, virtual historical worlds. Imagine walking through ancient Rome, witnessing pivotal moments in American history, or exploring historical landmarks as they appeared centuries ago—all from your current location.
I've always been fascinated by history. There's something profound about understanding the events and people that shaped the world we live in today. Making this connection between past and present accessible to everyone, in such an engaging and personal way, is more than just a project for me—it's a passion, and I'm committed to making this vision a reality.
